Media Futurist’s come to Trinidad

Today the Si Senior team attended the media futurist event. This was put on by Rostant Advertising which is now a branch of DDB a global advertising conglomerate The Future of Business, Marketing and Communications speeches were great and really proved the change in climate that we at Simply Intense have been talking about for quite sometime now.

The panel consisted of Three guys from different parts of DDB. The Topics consisted mainly of.

  • Interactive Media
  • Facebook marketing
  • Brands and the Web
  • The “Swarm”
  • DRM

The talks were great but were slightly brought down by the crowd. A lot of what was being said, for example Twitter seemed to fly over most peoples heads. This is good and bad. Good naturally because now hopefully most of the marketing heads in there will begin getting their head around the digital realm. Bad because well they didn’t know before. I guess all in all that helps Si and we can truely offer insight into these subjects once the air has cleared and people get enough time to digest what was said.

All in all a great event. We got in free too ;) Thanks to First Citizens who is our client and they sponsored the event. Small City Life I must say!

All in all this is where Trinidad needs to be looking for the future of Media. Thank god we have the Brits to tell us this!

Simple Solutions – 5 ways to establish your brand online…

5 easy ways to leverage the internet to your advantage:

1. Own your own domain name.

Your domain name is where your website lives. You can purchase your business name, or a variation of it, as your domain name. If you haven’t named your business yet, it’s a good idea to check the availability of potential domain names. You get more mileage for your brand when your domain name matches or reflects your business name or interests.

2. Use that domain name for your e-mail address.
You may already have an e-mail address from your internet service provider, like yourname@tstt.net.tt. It is much more professional to have the name of your company as part of your business e-mail address. The repetition of your business name will increase top of the mind awareness and will help build your brand.

3. Create an e-mail signature file to use on all of your e-mail.
This is a mini advertisement that appears at the end of all of your e-mail communications. Include your off and online contacts, a short description of what you do and your logo. This is an especially great tactic if you’re a member of any email lists – your message will reach many people who you don’t know who may be interested in your products or services.

4. Have a website professionally designed and developed.
A website is a must in today’s business world. An attractive, comprehensive site adds to your credibility and expands your reach to global proportions. You should typically include information about your company’s expertise and strengths, products and services and contact information.

5. Put your e-mail and website addresses on all of your printed materials.
The “if you build it, they will come,” attitude is, unfortunately, not true on the web. You have to promote your website to let people know that it’s available to them. The easiest way to do this is to add your online contacts to all of your your printed materials. The only place it is not appropriate is on envelopes or mailing labels as it confuses the postal scanners.

If you aren’t taking advantage of the internet’s many ways to build your brand, then you are missing out on some very effective and affordable ways to tell the world who you are, what you do and what makes you different.

Start building your brand with these proven methods and keep an eye out for upcoming articles that will show you other methods to extend your company’s reach online.

Did we mention we offer the services that can make this happen for you. – shameless cross sell ;)
